Christmas is Coming….

So according to the app on my i-Phone, its only 63 sleeps to Christmas. And you know what, I can’t wait. I Love Christmas. Everyone else around me is tut tutting about wollies and Myer having their Xmas decorations out etc, but I love it. It’s a magical time and I really dig it.

So yesterday after school/preschool drop off, it was just the littlest mini (who turned 2 yesterday OMG) and I, we did a little shopping a he fell asleep in the pram. Like the good mumma I am, I couldn’t possibly ruin his slumber by waking him (cough couch) so I did what any good mumma does, and headed into Spotlight. Oh Boy, was it FAB.

So much Christmas Fabric, I stumbled upon Dr Seuss Fabric, oh dear its delightful. The Grinch who Stole Christmas is a favourite of mine, and I just adore the Cat in the Hat.
I caved and brought some fab Grinch Xmas Fabric.

Just don’t tell 3minisdadda, k. Thanks.

Stay tuned for pics as I commence work on my Christmas Sewing for the 3 minis.

Keep our Minis safe with Kidsafe

Our minis are all so precious and special. Some try for many years with tears and heartbreak to get just one little one. I think we can all get a little complacent and no always realise how closer danger can be.
Last week on my normal school drop off I witnessed a child run out in front of a car across a little side street, the car came screeching to a halt, and the driver jumped out to check on the child. She was shaken but no injured at all. So pleased all was ok, but it got me thinking…..

I don’t want to scare my minis or freak them out, but they really do need to have a little fear of cars, trucks, roads etc as they need to understand just how dangerous it is. Here one minute and gone the next.

I always gently but firmly explain to my minis that if they do not cross a road correctly they could be seriously injured or pass away.

It may be harsh, but unfortunately its reality and they have to know. As much as we would love to protect them from everything they must know the truth.

My eldest mini is 8 and I allow her to walk out the back school gate and walk to my waiting car, it took months for me to finally let go and allow her to do this, but its important to develop independence and responsibility and she way thrilled to get this little bit of independence and she knows we trust her and her growing decisions.

Please remember we do not own our minis, they are lent to us for an unknown amount of time for us to love, nurture, treasure and grow.

Tread carefully and lovingly, and remember that you where a child too, you made mistakes, just like our minis will, they just need to know that keeping safe is the most important lesson & with guidance its possible.

September was HARD

It really & truly was.

With tears in my eyes & pain in my heart.

We where elated to find out in August we had finally conceived a new little life, being so early it was a huge secret & oh so exciting. The 3 minis where OVER the moon. Then on Fathers Day 1st sept, came a dark, sad cloud, that took away our little one, with no warning, just pain, sadness and hurt.

At nearly 8 weeks we had so many dreams for you, we cried for you, the minis cried for you. We miss you.

October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month…

Let’s take some time to remember the babies who were born asleep, or whom we carried but never met, those we have held but could not take home, or the ones who made it home but didn’t stay.

One in four pregnancies does not result in a live birth, so although rarely talked about in an open forum, many many women walk this path.
